The Basic Handling Skills course is the first step towards gaining your Learner Motorcycle licence.
Operating in a safe environment, you will learn the basic skills required to safely control a motorcycle, with full instruction and coaching delivered to you on a personalised basis.
What is involved in a basic handling skills test?
To pass a basic handling skills test you have to
- Ride at a walking pace
- Perform routine and quick stops
- Negotiate a cone slalom course
- Signal and ride a curve
- Stop within a curve
On successfully passing the Basic Handling Skills test, you will receive your Basic Handling Skills certificate.
Instruction, Test and Certification carried out by NZTA Certified Instructors.

We will provide you with enough instruction prior to testing so you will have the skills to competently pass the test.

Vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of purchase
Once you have your Basic Handling Skills Certificate you can book in with a Driver Licencing Agent to sit the Theory part of your Licence. Once you have completed this, you will have your Learner motorcycle licence.

Pro Rider can assess your riding ability in preparation for your restricted or full motorcycle licence tests and provide the instruction required to ensure your skill level is sufficient. Bike to bike intercom system used to assist with on road one on one riding instruction.
